In previous generations of Sony sets, "Triluminos" was synonymous with quantum-dot technology, although the company now claims it is not using quantum-dot-based tech in its Triluminos displays. Sony is also claiming a wider, more-vibrant color gamut in these new higher-end sets thanks to its "Triluminos" technology. The company is claiming three times the brightness range-the delta between the darkest parts of a scene and the brightest-compared to your run-of-the-mill LED-backlit LCD set.

It's a full-array 4K panel with local dimming, and Sony claims the extra contrast boost of the Dynamic Range PRO technology makes the LCD panel produce deeper, plasma-like blacks in addition to brighter bright areas. Sony's new flagship is the 75-inch XBR-75X940C, an $8,000 set that's the only model kitted out with the company's highest-end "X-Tended Dynamic Range PRO" contrast-enhancing feature. Now Sony is ready to hit stores with its early-2015 sets, and the company is focusing on razor-thin panels and HDR features. Vizio continues to blast out affordable 4K sets with full-array local dimming. LG is cranking out OLEDs, and it's also taking on quantum dot with its "ColorPrime" tech. Samsung is hanging its hat on its own quantum-dot-like color technology. All the major manufacturers are pushing 4K front and center, but each of them is staking claim to their own little slice of the Ultra HD pie.

So calling into Sony did absolutely nothing for me.The specs and specialties at the center of this year's TV turf war are coming into crystal-clear focus. But just with a different version number(because some regions receive different version numbers of the same update).
Sony firmware update xbr 75 software#
What's going on I think is, it's the same exact software update the Sony tech was explaining to me.
Sony firmware update xbr 75 install#
Upon doing that, the TV told me that it was up to date, and I couldn't install that update. So I did exactly what the tech from Sony told me to do. Which supposedly came out on June 20th, and here I am July 2nd and didn't receive it. Because they said that I'm not receiving the update like I should. Then plug it into the USB port of the TV and install it that way. They told me to go to the Sony website and download the software update to a external hard drive, or USB stick.
Sony firmware update xbr 75 full version#
But when I called into Sony today, they told me there was another update available, and they even read me off the full version number(which was different than the one I have). My TV tells me that I'm on the latest software update. So then july 1st, I contacted Sony technical support about this. About finding it full signal strength, but then depleting once connected. Then does what I said above, with the signal strength. So then each and every time, I have to go inside the Wi-Fi, and my Wi-Fi appears at the top of the list. What happens is everytime I turn on the TV I get a question mark symbol Over the Wi-Fi logo, on the bottom of the home screen. While the TV can't seem to have full bars at all, being closer distance to the internet box.Īlso, the Wi-Fi is not automatically connecting to the TV when I turn it on(on each and every time). I also have a Samsung Galaxy S8 that is further away in the same room as well(TV on the wall and normal couch distance), but that device also has full bars. I mean I have an iMac, in the same room further away from the internet box and the TV, witch it's picking up full signal strength(and can load Netflix in HD immediately). But it appears, that when loading Netflix on this TV, it doesn't even start on HD, it loads in 480(witch shouldn't happen with this type of speed, and a lot of times being the only device running). Which is very capable of loading 4K Netflix content immediately on 4K without having to buffer up to 4K(and does it with other devices). With that being said, I have a 150Mbps speed plan from my ISP provider. It ether goes to good or very good(every single time). But then, once it fully connects to the network, the Wi-Fi signal strength depletes.

It seems to find my Wi-Fi at the top of the list, with excellent Wi-Fi signal strength. What it happening is, I went to go set up there Wi-Fi for the first time(and everytime). I thought this would be the best place to put this.įor a while now, I've been having issues with the Wi-Fi on my Sony 4K TV(XBR-55X850D). First I would like to say sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.
